All the India v South Africa betting before Sunday’s T20 at Dharamsala.

The (50 over) Cricket World Cup only ended a few weeks ago but it’s already time to start thinking about the next World Cup, this time the T20 one. It will be held in Australia in 2021 and early betting with 10CRIC making the hosts the 3.5 favourites to win the World T20 for the first time, while India (4.5) and England (4.55), who have each won it once, are next in the betting.

Whatever you do, don’t forget about the two-time World champions, the West Indies.

Now with Kieron Pollard in charge, they can never be ruled out with their never-ending line-up of big six-hitters such as Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran and Pollard himself while they also have pace bowlers who can cause plenty of problems. The Windies are currently available at 9.5 with 10CRIC and that looks to be a great price.

But let’s focus on India v South Africa betting ahead of the 1ST T20 in Dharamsala on Sunday.

India Team News

The ‘Holy Trinity’ of Dhawan-Sharma-Kohli are all there with KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant probably making up the rest of the batting line-up. Then it’s the two Pandya brothers- Hardik and Krunal – probably fighting it our one spot and the all-round skills of Ravi Jadeja completing the top eight.

Cricket World Cup Quiz

Virat Kohli will be leading the team as per usual.

All of Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuv Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuz Chahal are missing so from their best XI so Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini or Deepak Chahar will be looking to impress from among the frontline bowlers.

South Africa Team News

No Faf du Plessis (rested), Hashim Amla (retired) or Lungi Ndidi (also rested) while JP Duminy, South Africa’s most capped T20 player has also retired.

Quinton de Kock leads a side for the first time featuring old heads like David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi, their best bowler in Kasigo Rabada, handy all-rounders Andile Phehlukwayo and Dwaine Pretorius and opener Reeza Hendricks. Temba Bavuma, rarely picked in T20s is there as well, as is Rassie van der Dussen, who was one of the few South Africa players to have had a good World Cup in England.

India v South Africa betting

Match winner

If you want to bet on India to win the 1st T20 then Royal Panda is the place to do it, seeing as they offer the best price of 1.48. This is a very strong and inexperienced batting line up that India have and whereas a lot of their star bowlers are missing, they still have a side packed with experienced IPL campaigners.

UK customers can get a £20 free bet when opening an account at Royal Panda.

Indian customers can open an account with Royal Panda in order to bet on all Ashes matches and can receive 2000 INR as a free bet when they sign up.

The likely scenario is that South African’s batters won’t be able to deal with the Indian spinners while the likes of Kohli, Sharma, Dhawan and Pant should have plenty of fun on the sort of wicket they know so well.

India Top Batsman

10CRIC have realised that Rohit Sharma is in the same class, if not better, than Virat Kohli. Sharma was certainly considerably better than Kohli at the last World cup, ending as the tournament’s top runscorer after we tipped him up before the tournament began.

Sharma has the further advantage of opening so may well get quite a few more deliveries than his captain to get a big score.

Dhawan is a brilliant batsman in his own right but not quite as consistent as those two. Dhawan is 4.0 to be India top batsman with Kohli the 3.25 favourite and Sharma available at 3.6. The preference goes to Sharma.

Man-of-the-match betting

But if you think Sharma could well top score, you might as well back him at a far bigger 8.0 to be man-of-the-match. As mentioned already, India have all the trump cards here on home soil and with the man-of-the-match award almost always going to a player from the winning side, as explained here, you shouldn’t look beyond an Indian player.

And with the star bowlers absent, you’d think that the South African wickets will be shared  around rather than one bowler grabbing three or more. But if you do want t hedge your bets, it might be worth considering Jadeja. Not only can he deadly if the wicket is turning but can always made very handy contributions with the bat. Above all, he’s a big price at 17.0.

The best India v South Africa betting opportunity is to side with both of them.
